Devin
Barber
Being
born the same year the United
States launched Explorer 1, the first
satellite successfully launched by NASA, has not been lost on Devin Barber. His
whole life has been spent following mankind’s initial first steps into the
space age. But space science only primed the pump of insatiable curiosity for
Devin. His childhood was spent devouring every book, magazine, television
program or movie on science or science fiction he could lay his hands on.
Adulthood didn’t change anything for this incurable science nerd. But the one
thing that always haunted Devin was his desire to write science fiction. After
a 23 year in civil engineering writing dry reports, studies, and proposals,
Devin decided it was time for him to share the countless stories that have
formed in his head for the past 50 plus years. Cosmic Journeys is a collection
of the initial science fiction stories written by Mr. Barber. Devin strives to
mix his extensive knowledge of science with his slanted imagination to paint a
tapestry of science fiction that is both plausible yet entertaining. His
character driven stories explore the human condition when it is forced to rise
to the extraordinary
circumstances presented in these stories.
