Technical Editing offered by Romana Hillebrand

As you know, one of the all-too-often valid criticisms of self-publishing is the poor quality of editing with egregiously glaring grammatical and punctuation errors. To combat this, I invite SASP members to send completed manuscripts to my wife, Romana Hillebrand, for technical editing. This means that she will correct grammar and punctuation errors. She will not tamper with the content. She will offer two levels of service. On the first level, she will merely correct the errors without explanation. On the second level, she will correct the errors and offer an explanation so that the author can profit from the mistake and hopefully not make it again. The good news is that there will be no charge for this service. However, we do ask that those who submit a manuscript for editing make a donation to English Certification Project of one dollar per page for level one service and two dollars a page for level two service. ECP is a 501C3 non-profit organization so that all contributions are tax deductible. What could be a better deal for all concerned? Donations will be used to promote the work of ECP, which is to help people to improve their language skills.

Members may submit manuscripts to romana@wsu.edu. Alternatively, they can send paper copies to her at Romana Hillebrand, PO Box 9284, Moscow ID 83843.

The only thing we ask is that it should be a final manuscript. Sometimes she has edited a manuscript and then the author has made changes to it and introduced a whole host of new errors, and that makes both the author and the editor look bad.
