A Message from Chuck
THANKS TO SASP!!!
As we've said before, It's been ONE HECKUVA RIDE and we have thoroughly enjoyed ramroding Spokane Authors over the past two years. Most everyone has made it a pleasant and fun experience. My right hand person and SASP alter ego, Lee Dominey, with great effort has managed to keep us all on the straight and narrow, has been a fine treasurer, and given us 6 memorable newsletters. Lee, please accept from all of us our warmest thanks and appreciation. Dan Vollmer has always been a big support and help in keeping SASP on track. Dan has single handedly scripted our bylaws, maintained and printed the SASP catalog, and served as Vice President. Dan, many thanks for all you have done for the group. Elmer and Pat Freeman have always been there to support the group in every way and Elmer was our President for the first year. Pat, in her capacity as Administrator of the Seniors Program for the Community Colleges has been most supportive and helpful in promoting and furthering SASP programs. Our special thanks to Elmer and Pat. Jolene Feher, our present secretary is doing a bang up job after taking over in mid-term. Thanks to you, Jolene. Tim Hillebrand, our WEB master and present Vice President, is doing an admirable job of supporting SASP and bringing in many new and innovative ideas. Thanks, Tim. Virginia White has supported SASP from its very inception and been a close personal adviser as we formed and grew. A special thank you goes out to you, Virginia.
As we've said before, writers are a special breed and we've got some of the best. Spokane Authors and Self-publishers is doing so well because of the combined efforts of all its members. We are over 100 strong now and growing. We've had a pretty good start but you AIN'T SEEN NOTHIN' YET! We have a new millennium, a fine new board, some progressive programs and ideas, and a great group of members to really go some place. So here's my Holiday Toast and Best Wishes to all you SASPers. YOU TRULY ARE THE GREATEST AND YOU HAVE MY TOTAL SUPPORT AND ADMIRATION.
HERE'S TO ALL OF YOU!!!
Chuck O'Connor, Past President

SASP was established in the fall of 1998 by four self-published authors in the Spokane area - Chuck O'Connor, Elmer Freemen, Joe Meiners and Dan Vollmer - to share with others their interests in writing, producing and publishing their own books - with the wish that SASP members benefit by their mutual interest and association. Membership is open to authors, poets, illustrators, photographers or others who have self-published their work, are in the process of doing so, or have an interest in self-publishing. Annual dues are $5.00, payable in January. For more information, contact any SASP officer (listed on front page).
