Text Box:      Our new president Don Johnson has been promoted from vice president to steer the ship and ring the bell for the next year. Don is an ex-school superintendent and now an author. He has recently published his first book and is busy promoting it, but still finds time to be our leader.
     Fran Wicht our new vice president is a retired nursing instructor Text Box: and an exacting editor who has been most helpful to many of our members.
     Karen Hol, an artist and author, brings her talents to the office of secretary. We are expecting exquisitely illustrated minutes this year. 
     We could not have found a more appropriate treasurer in Phil Colozzi, the author of a definitive work on budgText Box: eting. 
      Welcome “a Board” to our new officers. We are looking forward to a stellar year with inspiring speakers and the dissemination of much meaningful and useful information in the coming year. Just wait until you see the program that has been lined up for the rest of the year.

     Tony and Suzanne Bamonte, known for their meticulous research and fine quality books on the history of the Northwest with particular interest in the Spokane area, will treat us to a slide presentation on their latest work on the history of the recently reconstructed Davenport Hotel.

writer for the Spokesman Review, will speak to us on humor writing. Born in Colorado, he attended college at Lewis and Clark in Portland and has been in the newspaper business for twenty-seven years. He has won seven awards from the National Society of Newspaper Columnists. He has authored a hardcover book, The Human Comedy--Plus Other Species at No Extra Charge, published in 1997.

      Kershner is currently working on a TV documentary about the late civil rights lawyer Carl Maxey. Also, a murder mystery novel, Cutthroat Creek is in the writing stage.
