December 2009
Meeting Announcement
Hello Fellow
I
hope you all have your calendars marked for this Thursday, the 3rd
of December. Yes, it is once again time
for another meeting of SASP, and your presence is eagerly anticipated and
desired.
As
usual, we will be meeting at the Old Country Buffet at
This
month we are very fortunate to have famed local author Patrick McManus as our
speaker. He will speak for a short time,
attempt to answer any questions we may have for him, and sign copies of his
books. SASP member Trish Gill of
As
well as a visit from Mr. McManus, we will also be holding an election at this
meeting. Ballots have been made up and
are included along with this meeting announcement. You are most welcome to e-mail your completed
ballot back to any of the current officers.
You may also fill out a printed copy and bring it with you to the
meeting. Should you forget to bring your
copy, additional copies will be on hand at the meeting.
Quite
naturally, we would ask that you be a paid up member when you cast your
ballot. As always, you may send a check
or money order to the organization at the mailing address shown on the front
cover of this mailing. Persons paid up
for 2009, or newly joined members who are currently paid for 2010 will be
eligible to vote.
Other
than the three listed as incumbent, names on the ballot are a result of the
vote/poll taken at the November meeting.
Notified before hand, a few members declined to be considered for the
various positions. As none of those
currently on the ballot have objected to being there, we can assume that they
are willing to serve if elected.
In
order to reach those of you who do not have e-mail, or whose e-mail addresses
seem to reject any attempts to contact you, this is also being sent out via
“snail mail.” Personally I hope we will
continue to do so. I believe a short
newsletter containing a rundown of the previous meeting, perhaps the
“President’s Page,” notice of the next gathering, and excerpts from the web
site should be going out to those who are not online. It should not be that difficult to put
something of four, five or six pages together, mail it to fifteen or so people
and provide a few copies at our next meeting.
While I can do it, the effort distracts from duties as President, and
that is why the position of Newsletter Editor is included on the ballot.
